QPR are among the clubs in the Championship that John Textor is interested in
John Textor has his eye on numerous Championship clubs, and it appears that QPR are one of the names on that list.
The American businessman and owner of the Eagle Football Group has been looking to add another English side to his ownership group after he sold his shares in Crystal Palace in June for £190 million.
He placed a £400 million bid for Wolves in late October, and according to The Athletic's report, the 60-year-old also has an eye on a list of Championship clubs. Five were named, and the Hoops were amongst them alongside the likes of Charlton Athletic, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday and Watford.
QPR have had their current owners since 2011. Despite Tony Fernandes stepping away from his duties and selling the remainder of his shares in 2023, Ruben Gnanalingam, who he arrived at the club with, still holds a majority of the shares at the club, with Amit Bhatia and Richard Reilly holding minority shares.
With John Textor keeping an eye on developments at Loftus Road, Football League World has compared his wealth with the three currently involved at QPR.

QPR's majority shareholder, Ruben Gnanalingham, is part of one of the wealthiest families in Malaysia. The family made their money through the company Wetsports Malaysia, which is a cargo port business.
According to Forbes, the family is worth a whopping $2.1 billion. So whilst it's difficult to put a finger on how much of that Ruben makes up, it can be inferred that he is an extremely wealthy billionaire.
As for his two minority shareholders, the Mittal family, of which Amit Bhatia is a part, is worth $17.2 billion, but the British-Indian entrepreneur's personal net worth is said to be only around £367 million.
And Reilly, who was the founder and CEO of RBI Solar when he arrived at the club in 2022, sold the company for $130 million since then. Therefore, whilst it's difficult to put a finger on an exact net worth, it can be expected that the American is worth that plus a lot more.
So, whilst an exact figure can't be placed on how much the three all pull in together, it can be estimated at being between $1–2 billion.

Ultimately, John Textor is one of the wealthiest men in the world right now, so whilst QPR's ownership group is one of the wealthiest in the Championship, they barely hold a candle to what Textor can deal with.
According to Finance Monthly, John Textor's net worth stands at a staggering $3.4 billion, which makes him one of the wealthiest figures in global technology.
The American businessman made his name in visual effects and was the former executive chairman of FuboTV. Now, he's delved into football ownership, and currently has Lyon, Botafogo and RWDM Brussels under his Eagle Group.
His net worth would only place him in the bottom half of Premier League clubs, but in the Championship, the money is outstanding.
A purchase of a second-tier club could see Textor make a profit if he were to invest in the club, earn promotion and then sell it on, making it a very attractive business deal for him, if he plays his cards right.
It is unclear whether QPR's current ownership group would be willing to sell, but if John Textor came knocking for a majority stake at the club, you would like to imagine that he clearly wouldn't have any issues meeting the price demands of the current group.
