The Baggies travel to South Yorkshire on the final day of the Championship season.

After one of the most turbulent weeks in West Brom's recent history, the club's very real relegation threat became even more stark.

The Baggies have endured a woeful season, which has seen Ryan Mason sacked and the club in a race against time to maintain their Championship status.

To make matters worse, news broke earlier this week that the Black Country club could face a points deduction by the EFL for an alleged breach of PSR regulations, with a hearing set to take place later this month.

With that in mind, their final game of the season against Sheffield Wednesday will likely hold great significance as the result could decide whether they are relegated to League One.

Given that West Brom will need all the support they can get on the final day, just how many tickets have they sold so far?

West Brom sell out Hillsborough allocation for Sheffield Wednesday clash

With just four games to go, the stakes could not be higher for James Morrison's side as they look to avoid relegation to the third tier for the first time in over 30 years.

On paper, a trip to Hillsborough to play against the division's bottom side should ease the fears among West Brom supporters, but it could, in fact, be the worst time to play them.

The Baggies have announced that they have sold out their allotted allocation and that 2,460 fans will travel to South Yorkshire on 2 May to watch their side for the final time this season.

However, with Sheffield Wednesday announcing that fewer than 1,500 home tickets remain available, it looks like Morrison's men will be playing in front of a sell-out crowd.

While it has been a horrendous campaign for the Owls, nobody can discredit their fans, who have continued to support their club in their numbers despite the prolonged drama involving their club.

Indeed, given that it may be the last time they witness their club in the Championship for some time, they will be sure to provide West Brom with as hostile an atmosphere as possible.

What West Brom must do to avoid Championship relegation

With the Baggies' potential points deduction in mind, it means that it is not crystal clear what they must do to avoid the drop, but there has been some critical insight.

Given that it has been reported that the club's financial breaches are likely minimal, it has been speculated that they could receive an approximate three-point deduction.

If that were to come to fruition, then it would mean that the Black Country club may have to win all their remaining games to even have a chance of surviving.

What makes matters harder is that West Brom have to host Ipswich Town, who are fighting for automatic promotion, while Portsmouth and Oxford United have found form at the right time.

Morrison's side have been on a stellar run of late, picking up points from Southampton, Hull City and Wrexham, but it all feels too little too late.

However, if there is something still to play on the final day, then there promises to be fireworks as two great supports come together at Hillsborough.
