Lee Hendrie has told FLW that Brandon Thomas-Asante could be in line for Premier League interest this January
Lee Hendrie tipped Coventry City’s Brandon Thomas-Asante as one of three Championship players that might attract Premier League interest in the January transfer window.
The forward has enjoyed a strong start to the season, scoring 10 times from 14 appearances in the league under Frank Lampard.
The Sky Sports pundit has suggested that he is the standout forward that Premier League clubs could be looking at when the market opens in the new year.
"And then you look at strikers, the likes of Thomas-Asante at Coventry,” Hendrie exclusively told Football League World.
“He's been involved in goals a lot this season, and still only 26, you know, could he go and take a step up to the Premier League? Would it be something that might be a possibility?”
Thomas-Asante has been key to Coventry’s exceptional start, with the team currently sitting top of the Championship table after the opening 15 games.
Here we use estimated figures from Capology to see how much the 26-year-old earns at the CBS Arena ahead of the January transfer window…

Thomas-Asante made the switch to the Sky Blues in the 2024 summer transfer window, arriving from rivals West Brom.
The forward agreed a four-year deal as part of the switch, with his contract running until the summer of 2028.
The Ghana international contributed four goals and three assists from his first season with Coventry, having made 14 starts from 36 league appearances.
As part of his four-year contract with the Championship side, Thomas-Asante is receiving £15,000 per week.
Thomas-Asante has gone from strength to strength during his time under Lampard, and is now a key figure in the side.
He’s started all bar one game so far this season, and is the joint-top scorer in the entire division, sharing the title with Derby County’s Carlton Morris for the time being.
If he can continue this form, then it will surely take a significant fee in order to convince the Sky Blues to cash in on Thomas-Asante in the new year, particularly given their promotion ambition.

Thomas-Asante has cemented his place as a key part of the team at the moment, but he has earned his way there.
The forward was not signed with the expectation that he would immediately be a key player, especially due to the attacking options already at the CBS Arena.
There is no doubt that a Premier League club could prove quite tempting if an offer does arrive in January, particularly as it would offer him the chance to significantly improve his £15,000 per week salary.
The current highest earner at Coventry is summer signing Luke Woolfenden, with the defender earning £25,000 per week.
Matt Grimes, Ellis Simms and Haji Wright all also earn this amount, keeping the overall weekly wage budget to £249,000 per week.
This ranks Coventry as the 20th highest in the division, which highlights the impressive work being done by the club to make them so competitive.
In comparison, Leicester City top the payroll table, with the Foxes paying a weekly wage to their first team squad of £840,500, which is a significant step up from Lampard’s side.
But if Coventry want to hold onto Thomas-Asante longer-term, then perhaps they will have to make an offer to extend his contract and improve his pay, otherwise Hendrie’s prediction to FLW could soon come to pass.
