Crystal Palace are looking to add Patrick Agyemang to their ranks this summer
Crystal Palace are well-renowned for bringing in talent from the Championship and overseeing their development to become stars in some of the biggest clubs in world football.
Michael Olise and Ebere Eze have been the two main examples of that. Marc Guehi, too, albeit his time in the Championship was spent on loan from Chelsea. And currently, Adam Wharton is the next man expected to make Palace a lot of money in the future.
Patrick Agyemang seems to be one of the next second-tier stars that the Eagles are looking to test at Premier League level, after a debut campaign which has seen the 25-year-old net 10 in 33 games thus far.
Football Insider has reported that Palace are set to join fellow top-flight outfit Leeds United in the pursuit of the American, and that interest in Agyemang could be rife if either Derby County remains in the Championship or if he has a standout World Cup in the summer with the Stars and Stripes.
After spending £6 million in the summer to sign him from FC Charlotte, it's expected that a side like Palace would need to offer at least an eight-figure fee for him, but how much should they be expected to pay in terms of a weekly wage?

Surprisingly, despite his importance to John Eustace's side this season, Agyemang is in the bottom half of the earners list at Pride Park, according to Capology's estimates.
Estimates reveal that the 25-year-old is earning £7,500 per week under his current contract at Derby, a figure which is set to remain the same throughout the four-year deal he signed when he made the move in the summer.
Perhaps this low figure could be due to the type of money he was dealing with while he was playing in the MLS for FC Charlotte.
The frontman was a relative unknown 22-year-old when he was selected in the 2022 MLS draft, and his wage in America wasn't high at all, even after a couple of productive years across the Atlantic.
Capology estimated him to be earning just £1,004 per week in his final year in America before he made the switch to the Championship.
Therefore, that wage hike would have been significant enough to make Agyemang want to accept, while in turn not creating too much financial strain on the Rams.

Having been in the Premier League since 2013, Crystal Palace have been able to build a squad of talented players on proven Premier League wages, and their FA Cup win last season will have helped boost that, too.
When observing Capology's estimates of the Palace wage bill, only six players are said to be earning less than £7,500, and five of those are currently out on loan.
If Agyemang was coming in to help bulk out the squad and effectively replace Jean-Philippe Mateta, as the Football Insider report states, you'd imagine that he'd be able to at least triple his current wage at Pride Park.
If the opportunity to play in the Premier League came about, plus the possibility of earning a lot more than he currently does, crops up, it'll be a difficult proposition to turn down.
