As reported by Kicker, following their quarter-final exit from the Club World Cup, Bayern Munich now know the fee they must pay Bayer Leverkusen for releasing Jonathan Tah early.
Tah was allowed by B04 to leave his contract early in order to sign for Bayern ahead of the Club World Cup in the USA.
For this, Bayern were due to pay Leverkusen a fee depending on performance and how far the Bavarians got in the competition.
As Bayern were knocked out in the final eight of the competition, Bayern only have to pay €2m to B04 for the early release from his contract.
Both sides will be happy with the outcome. B04 have basically received €2m for a free agent, and Bayern only have to pay the fee, having already earned €21m in bonuses from the competition itself. What’s more, Tah is now integrated into the side and is familiar with his role in the squad.
