West Ham have been linked with a possible move for Manor Solomon

West Ham are aiming for automatic promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt next season.

The Irons suffered relegation with an 18th place finish, coming two points adrift of Tottenham Hotspur in 17th.

The London outfit have not competed in the Championship since 2012, when Sam Allardyce led the club to promotion through the play-offs.

Nuno Espírito Santo will be hoping to replicate that success, as he has previously led Wolves to the second division title as recently as 2018.

The Hammers will be keen to use the summer transfer window to bolster their squad, with no major additions made so far, as we approach the final weeks of the market.

It has been reported that West Ham are plotting a move for Spurs forward Manor Solomon as they look to improve their promotion chances for the season ahead.

How much Manor Solomon earns at Tottenham Hotspur

Solomon made the switch from Fulham to Spurs in 2023, but he has struggled to make much of an impact with the first team squad.

The winger featured five times in the Premier League in 2023/24 before going out on loan to Leeds United and Villarreal.

He also went out on loan to Fiorentina last season, where he made 16 appearances in Serie A, including nine starts, where he contributed two goals and one assist.

It has been reported by Football London via Sportrac that Solomon is currently earning £60,000 per week at Spurs.

He is one of the lower paid first team stars in Roberto de Zerbi’s squad, earning the same as Lucas Bergvall, and only Mathys Tel and Djed Spence receive less (£55,000 and £40,000 per week, respectively).

Meanwhile, the highest paid player in the Premier League side is currently Xavi Simons, who is earning £195,000-a-week since arriving from RB Leipzig last summer.

Cristian Romero is also paid £195,000 per week, while James Maddison is the next highest earner at £170,000-a-week.

However, new signings Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali are also likely to be among the top earners going into the new campaign as well.

Solomon has struggled at Spurs, but his previous experience of the Championship proved quite a success.

The 27-year-old made the move to Elland Road on loan in the 2024 summer window, and he was crucial to Daniel Farke’s side winning the title.

The Israel international contributed 10 goals and 12 assists for the Whites as they earned 100 points on their way to automatic promotion.

Solomon featured 39 times in the league, although he started on 30 occasions, and he was a real threat both in front of goal and in creating chances for others.

With the sale of Crysencio Summerville, Solomon could occupy the left-wing position that is now in need of reinforcement this summer.

However, it remains to be seen whether he would be willing to take the drop back down to the second tier of English football.
