Juventus are at a major risk of missing out on Champions League football for 2026-27 after a disastrous set of results for the Bianconeri in the penultimate round of Serie A fixtures, so how much would it cost the Old Lady if they were to miss out on qualification for Europe’s premier competition?
Juventus fell to a 2-0 defeat at home against Fiorentina on Sunday afternoon, while every other team in the Champions League race – Napoli, Milan, Roma and Como – all picked up important victories.
The weekend’s results leaves Luciano Spalletti’s side in sixth place, two points shy of the top four heading into the final round of fixtures, and now, they need favours from both Roma and Como on the final day in order to qualify for the Champions League.
The last time that Juventus went without Champions League football was in 2023-24. The team had been handed a 10-point deduction in Serie A the season prior and were then excluded from participating in UEFA competitions due to a violation of the organising body’s financial regulations.
Excluding 2023-24, Juventus have participated in every edition of the Champions League since 2012-13.

Missing out on Champions League football had a major impact on Juventus’s accounts that year, recording their biggest loss of the last three financial years, amounting to losses of €199m. Their revenues also fell by around €78m that season .
2022-23: €438m
2023-24: €360m
2024-25: €420m
2022-23: -€124m
2023-24: -€199m
2024-25: -€58m

Europa League trophy
The 2023-24 season was, of course, when Juve were excluded from participating in Europe altogether, while in 2026-27, they will still be guaranteed a spot in the Europa League at least. The revenues brought in from the Champions League and the Europa League are not quite on the same level, though.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the difference between qualifying for the Champions League round of 16 and the Europa League quarter or semi-finals, realistic targets for the Bianconeri next season, would come to around €55m-€60m.
