World Cup bonus schemes vary by nation. L'Équipe reports France struck a deal before flying to the United States, with FFF president Philippe Diallo accepting players’ proposals on Wednesday. The federation needs the quarter-finals to break even, and post-group bonuses will be progressive.

Benchmarks are €400,000 per player for 2018 champions and €500,000 for the 2022 finalists, and 2026 is not expected to exceed that, with senior players donating part or all to charities or excluded staff.

Spain will pay nothing before the quarter-finals, with talks ongoing under captains Rodri, Unai Simón and Ferran Torres. Figures are expected to exceed Euro 2024.

A generous pot could see more than £500,000 each for winning, a first in 60 years, while head coach Thomas Tuchel could collect several million pounds.

Germany remain in talks. Jonathan Tah said a deal is close, and executive Andreas Rettig indicated a title bonus would exceed Qatar levels. Bild claims each player would receive $500,000, around €430,000, this time, compared with €300,000 in 2014.

Belgium would pay €435,000 per player for the title and €40,000 for a group exit, with La Dernière Heure reporting terms were set earlier by Thibaut Courtois and Romelu Lukaku. Brazil’s figure is $1m each, about €865,000, with scaled shares for staff including coaches.

Across leading African nations, rewards can include land or houses alongside cash. Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations winners received 75m CFA, about €115,000, plus 1,500 square metres in Dakar, while Egypt have only match-win bonuses.
