Liverpool have an opportunity to put down a marker in the battle for Champions League football when they face Bournemouth this evening.

Just six points separates Liverpool in fourth to 12th-placed Brighton in the Premier League table going into this weekend’s action, with the Reds aiming to stretch their unbeaten run to 14 games.

However, their unbeaten run has been littered with draws against the likes of Sunderland, Leeds (twice), Fulham and at home to Burnley last time out in the Premier League.

Liverpool do, though, head to the Vitality Stadium on the back of an impressive 3-0 win over Marseille in the Champions League and can open up a four-point lead over Manchester United before their showdown against league leaders Arsenal on Sunday.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, are on a run of one win from their last 14 games across all competitions and have beaten today’s opposition just once since December 2016, losing the last six meetings in a row - including the reverse fixture on the opening weekend of the season.
