England play a final friendly before the World Cup starts when they take on Costa Rica on Wednesday.
Thomas Tuchel’s side face Costa Rice at the Inter&Co Stadium in Florida, having won their first pre-tournament friendly 1-0 against New Zealand.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the game.

England XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; James, Stones, Guehi, O’Reilly; Anderson, Rice; Saka, Bellingham, Rashford; Kane
Costa Rica XI (4-2-3-1): Sequeira; Quiros, Mitchell, Faerron, Araya; Salazar, Flores; Mora, Soto, Alcocer; Ugalde
England have been in mixed recent form, although it is difficult to know how important any game outside of an international tournament actually is. They beat New Zealand last time out but the performance was nothing to shout about. Tuchel’s side lost 1-0 to Japan and were outplayed in March, and drew 1-1 with Uruguay the game before that.
Costa Rica have not won since October last year, and are winless in their last four games. They are not taking part in the 2026 World Cup.
Thomas Tuchel: “No one needs a break, everyone is available. That’s very good news. No complaints after the first match. One day for recovery, two good training sessions yesterday and today, and ready to give it a push tomorrow.
“That means more than 45 minutes. Players will play 60, maybe some 70. This decision is not made yet. We will make this decision in the afternoon.
“But that’s the plan. We have the chance to load the players one day later in a match behind closed doors in our training facility and then pre-camp is finished and we start our adventure two days later.
“We expect a push tomorrow physically, for intensity, and also style of play in terms of ball speed and everything. We want to take the next step and we feel ready for it.”
