Liverpool travel to Istanbul to face Super Lig side Galatasaray in the Champions League looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season and improve their miserable record in Turkey.
The Reds have never won in İstanbul, losing to Galatasaray in 2006 before subsequent defeats to Besiktas in 2007 and 2015. Their only win on Turkish soil in six attempts came 15 years ago, against Trabzonspor in a Europa League play off.
Here’s everything you need to know
How to watch
Kick-off: 8pm BST, Tuesday 30th October TV channel (UK): Amazon Prime Video coverage starts 7pm BST
Recent form
Galatasaray
The Turkish champions are flying domestically, winning all seven of their Super Lig matches so far and sitting six points clear of Fenerbahce. A 1-0 victory away to Alanyaspor on Friday maintained their 100% start, with Mauro Icardi netting the winner.
Europe has been a different story. Two weeks ago, they were thrashed 5-1 by Eintracht Frankfurt despite taking an early lead through Yunus Akgun. Still, Gala have pedigree at home against English clubs, winning four of their 12 meetings including a 3-2 win over Tottenham last November.
Liverpool
Arne Slot’s side suffered their first setback of the season at the weekend, falling 2-1 to in-form Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Federico Chiesa equalised late on, only for Liverpool to be beaten at the death.
Before that defeat, the Reds had won five from five in the Premier League and remain top of the table by two points. They’ll now aim to respond strongly by the Bosphorus.
The Reds come into this fixture having already defeated Atletico Madrid 3-2 via a Virgil Van Dijk injury time winner to get their European campaign underway with three points.
Injuries and suspensions
Galatasaray: Okan Buruk is expected to have a fully fit squad available.
Liverpool: Giovanni Leoni (ACL) Jayden Daans (ankle) Federico Chiesa (minor issue)
Predicted line-ups
Galatasaray (4-2-3-1):
Cakir; Sallai, Singo, Sanchez, Elmali; Torreira, Lemina; Sane, Gundogan, Akgun; Osimhen.

What the managers have said
Okan Buruk: “We’ll give it our all and try to put the opponent in a difficult situation.”
Arne Slot: “This team have won the first seven games in the league, so that means they are mentally also strong for difficult moments. If you win a lot then you are also mostly mentally a bit stronger. So, a very difficult team to face”
