How to watch Gotham FC and Chicago Stars FC, time, and more in the Windy City | OneFootball

NJ/NY Gotham FC fans can rejoice!  The team finally won again over the weekend, comfortably beating Bay FC 3-0 in an offensive performance everyone had been waiting for.  Now, the expectation is that this will be the team that shows up for the rest of the NWSL season.  But will the ladies deliver the performances they should, given the roster?

Their first chance to test this will take place on the road when the NJ/NY side heads to the Windy City to play against Chicago Stars FC.  Once again, the Stars are struggling this year and currently sit in 13th place.  At least the good news for them is that they are one win away from matching their wins in the 2025 season, three.  Of course, the Bats do not want them to achieve this feat against them.

Nevertheless, if Gotham FC channels the way that they played against Bay FC, then, on paper, they should win the midweek matchup.  However, as poor as Chicago was last season, they still stole points from the NJ/NY side, drawing in both meetings.  Hence, this is not a match to sit back and relax.  The ladies must be at 100% and need to score multiple goals again.  The goal should be to steal three points on the road.

Hopefully, the Bats will have some of their injured defenders back, for they were missing five over the weekend.  All of Chicago’s losses saw them score zero goals, so Gotham FC has the edge with their defensive talent.  Yet, they are at a disadvantage with the injuries if that does not change.  The team might have survived the last game, but could they do it again?  This is something to watch.

If Gotham FC has a good game in Chicago, then that should help boost their confidence even more.  Plus, that would increase the hope that the start of the season was just another typical slow start by the team, and is not the norm for the 2026 campaign.
