The Gunners are out to continue their remarkable run of clean sheets
Arsenal are in the hunt for a ninth consecutive clean sheet as they visit Sunderland’s Stadium of Light this evening.
By failing to concede against Slavia Prague in midweek, Mikel Arteta bettered George Graham’s club-record run of seven straight clean sheets, achieved in 1889.
Sunderland could be well placed to rain on their parade, though. They have hit the ground running since being promoted to the Premier League this season, sitting fourth after ten matches.
The Black Cats are in fine form, too, with wins over Chelsea and Nottingham Forest still fresh in the memory.
Wilson Isidor will be the danger man Arsenal must contain. He has scored four goals so far this campaign - more than any of his team-mates and as many as the Gunners’ £64million man Viktor Gyokeres.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on Sky Sports. Coverage starts at 5pm GMT on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR ahead of kick-off at 5.30pm.
Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Sky Go app.
Live blog: You can follow all the action on matchday via Standard Sport’s live blog, with expert analysis from Simon Collings at the ground.
