Colorado Rapids will face Houston Dynamo in a Major League Soccer regular-season match on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. MT / 8:30 p.m. CT.

How and where to watch

  • Streaming / TV: The match will be live on MLS Season Pass (Apple TV), available globally.
  • Broadcast radio: Rapids fans can listen via Altitude Sports Radio and follow coverage on the club’s official app/social channels.

Match context

The Houston Dynamo and Colorado Rapids are in an extremely tight Western Conference playoff race. Houston is just underneath the playoff line by a small margin, and Colorado is just ahead. So this is a big match for both of them in terms of postseason implications.

Earlier this season the two teams met in Houston (at Shell Energy Stadium), in a match that ended 2–2, and Houston’s Amine Bassi scored first followed by a stoppage-time equalizer by Ondřej Lingr.

For Houston, forward Ezequiel Ponce is one of their greatest scoring threats, as is midfielder Jack McGlynn’s influence through scoring and assisting.

For Colorado, Rafael Navarro leads the attack and Djordje Mihailovic is instrumental in the midfield. Colorado’s most recent match was 4–2 loss to Sporting Kansas City on the road.

Colorado Rapids v Houston Dynamo Excpected Lineup

Colorado Rapids: Zack Steffen, Noah Cobb, Andreas Maxsö, Rob Holding, Reggie Cannon, Cole Bassett, Oliver Larraz, Paxten Aaronson, Rafael Santos, Darren Yapi, Rafael Navarro.

Unavailable: Joshua Atencio (injury).

Houston Dynamo: Jonathan Bond, Griffin Dorsey, Femi Awodesu, Antônio Carlos, Felipe Andrade, Artur, Junior Urso, Duane Holmes, Ondrej Lingr, Lawrence Ennali, Ezequiel Ponce.

Unavailable: Andrew Tarbell (injury), Erik Sviatchenko (injury), Ethan Bartlow (injury), Franco Escobar (sickness), Nelson Quinones (injury), Sergio Santos (injury).

Head-to-head

In MLS history, the two teams have faced each other a total of 48 times, in which Houston have won 17 times, Colorado 16 and 15 ended in a draw.

But Houston have not lost to Colorado in their last seven matches against the Rapids, outscoring them 13–6 over that stretch.

With Colorado playing at home, although they have had a bit of a roller coaster year, and given Houston’s momentum with Ponce and McGlynn, and the several unavaible player this feels like a toss up game.

I would be leaning Houston Dynamo for a close win or maybe a draw if Colorado plays off sturdy defense.
