PSG had reached agreement with Ivorian forward Yan Diomandé weeks ago, yet Real Madrid have overtaken them in recent days, provoking a forceful public response from Paris executives.
According to L'Équipe, the 19-year-old’s agent visited the Parc des Princes in April, and a contractual framework had been settled for some time. Paris were confident of concluding the transfer, helped by cordial relations between the two presidents.

Transfer insiders often label such last-minute reversals as a hijacking, and PSG appear to have been on the receiving end.
Even so, many elements of the Diomandé file remain unresolved, and the finer, sometimes opaque, details are likely to emerge only with time.
Diomandé featured in the Bundesliga meeting between Hamburg and Leipzig, a 1-2 result, on one March.
