Hamburger SV’s hopes of re-signing Luka Vušković are over after Brighton signed the Croatian from Tottenham Hotspur for €53m.
Vušković spent last season on loan at HSV, who wanted to keep him. Brighton confirmed the transfer earlier this afternoon.

At the seaside club, the defender will link up with former St. Pauli coach Fabian Hürzeler.
Hürzeler said the club had followed Vušković’s progress closely and that he has made a fantastic start, adding last season showed he can play at a very high level. He said Brighton want to help him build on that.
He also noted there was significant hype around the move, but stressed the defender is still young and will need time to adapt to Brighton and the Premier League.
