Corinthians beat Athletico-PR 1-0 at Arena da Baixada in round two of the Campeonato Brasileiro, and Hugo Souza’s outing pushed him into the club’s 21st-century top five for goalkeepers.

The goalkeeper now has 101 appearances, level with Doni in fifth. Ahead are Fábio Costa on 118, Júlio César on 140, Felipe on 194, and Cássio leading with 712, second in club history behind Wladimir’s 806. According to Meu Timao, the current schedule means he could play at least 44 more games by the end of 2026.

If that scenario plays out, he would reach 145 and overtake Júlio César, becoming the third most used keeper for Corinthians in the 21st century.

Across his 101 matches he has 51 wins, 26 draws and 24 defeats, conceding 92, with 44 clean sheets and 11 penalties saved. He has lifted three trophies, the 2025 Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil, plus the 2026 Supercopa do Brasil.

Against Athletico-PR he made six ball recoveries, four clearances and four saves, including two from shots inside the box. He can add to his tally on Sunday when Corinthians face Portuguesa at Canindé at 20:30 in a single-leg Paulista quarter-final.
