Corinthians goalkeeper Hugo Souza has shared a video showing his reaction to missing Brazil's World Cup squad, moving from expectation to disappointment. He also celebrated the inclusion of Neymar of Santos.

According to Globo.com, the footage captures Souza reflecting that two years ago he was unemployed as he watched the announcement at home with family and friends, and that the hurt of missing out sits alongside gratitude for his progress. He vowed to work for the next tournament, targeting 2030.

Before releasing the video, he posted a message thanking those who backed the dream, describing setbacks as part of football and life and fuel to do more. He added that he will be cheering from home with strong support for the Seleção.

In a press conference, Carlo Ancelotti lamented Souza's omission and indicated that he and other young players, including Andrey Santos and João Pedro, will have the chance to be involved in the next World Cup project.

Alisson is returning from injury but is fine, should play the next match and will have time to be 100%. Brazil tested three goalkeepers this year, Bento, Hugo Souza and John, then opted for experience, with Weverton of Grêmio chosen as the third goalkeeper.
