Hugo Souza was named Corinthians’ standout by supporters after the 2-0 win at Platense in the Copa Libertadores group opener. The match was played at Estádio Ciudad Vicente López.
According to Meu Timao’s Notas da Torcida, the goalkeeper led the fan ratings with an average 9.1 after two important saves under pressure.
In attack, Rodrigo Garro was next best with 8.5 after supplying both goals for Kayke Ferrari and Yuri Alberto. Yuri posted 8.4, just ahead of academy forward Kayke on 8.2.
The midfield drew lower numbers. Breno Bidon had the lowest among the starters with 5.7, followed by Raniele on 5.8 and André Luiz on 5.9.
Defensively, Gustavo Henrique led the unit with 7.1, with Gabriel Paulista on 6.7. Full-backs Matheus Bidu and Matheuzinho registered 6.3 and 6.2 respectively.
From the bench, Vitinho received 3.4, the night’s lowest score. Pedro Raul was on 3.7, Allan 4.4, Jesse Lingard 5.1 and André Carrillo 5.6.
Head coach Fernando Diniz, debuting in the role, earned 8.4 from supporters. Referee Piero Maza was marked down at 4.8.
The victory gave Corinthians their first three points in Group E and a provisional lead, pending Independiente Santa Fe v Peñarol. They face Palmeiras on Sunday at 18:30 in the 11th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro at the Neo Química Arena.
