Kasey Palmer is currently sidelined for the Tigers after previous selection debates

Hull City are currently riding the crest of a wave under Sergej Jakirovic, with the Tigers currently sat in fifth place throughout the final international break of 2025.
It has been an unexpectedly positive start to the Championship campaign for the Tigers, who were tipped by many to have a season of struggle after surviving on the final day of last season by virtue of goal difference under Ruben Selles.
Jakirovic's appointment in HU3 following his exit from Turkish Süper Lig side, Kayserispor, pointed towards yet another summer of high turnover, as has become the norm ever since Acun Ilicali's acquisition of the East Yorkshire club in January 2022.
However, it is a decision which is currently proving a masterstroke, with City suffering just two league defeats since August, as well as winning five of the previous seven games.
Such feats have also been achieved amid a backdrop of financial limitations, as the club were placed under a transfer fee restriction by the EFL - a punishment which was reduced until next summer following a successful appeal.
This forced Hull to make 12 incomings on free transfers or loan deals without extra payment, compensating for the 18 players who exited the club in the summer.
Due to the tight-knit nature of the current squad, not many changes to Jakirovic's side have been forecast ahead of January.
However, there is one glaringly obvious departee in the eyes of Football League World's Hull City fan pundit, Cameron Gibson.

Kasey Palmer's career is yet to get going at the MKM, with the Jamaican international initially penning a three-year contract with the option of a further year during Tim Walter's solitary transfer window last summer.
The playmaker has become a household name at Championship level over time, featuring for the likes of Derby County, Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City and Swansea City, as well as a largely successful spell with Coventry City between 2022 and 2024.
During a two-year stint at the CBS Arena, the former Chelsea man helped the Sky Blues to the Championship play-off final and FA Cup semi-final within successive seasons, scoring nine times and posting 14 assists in 75 games.
However, under Walter, Selles and now Jakirovic, the 22-time international has made just 34 appearances for the Tigers, posting four goal contributions.
Despite starting the season very much in Jakirovic's thoughts, Palmer's future was plunged into jeopardy following City's 1-0 win over Sheffield United, with the Bosnian stating he wasn't "mentally ready" to feature in the Yorkshire derby, leaving him with one less substitute option.
Just two weeks later, it was revealed the 29-year-old would be sidelined for approximately eight to 10 weeks with an MCL issue. As such, Gibson believes a permanent or loan exit for the man ESTIMATED to be earning a base wage of £12,500 per week is on the cards.
"I think, within the first few weeks of the season, Jakirovic soon didn't fancy Kasey Palmer and banished him from the team," he claimed.
"There was a game (v Sheff Utd) where we had one less substitute, and we could have had Palmer on the bench, but he chose not to.
"He's just got injured for up to 10 weeks, and he won't be back until January. I think it's pretty obvious that Jakirovic doesn't fancy him," Gibson stated.
"I think he'll probably look to get some football elsewhere if he hopes to feature for Jamaica, should they qualify for the World Cup.
"Let's see what happens. But, I'm pretty sure we won't see Kasey Palmer in a Hull City shirt again.
"If we do, it would be a great redemption story, but it doesn't appear likely," our fan pundit believes.

It remains to be seen whether a permanent or temporary exit would be in the offing for the experienced midfielder, but both options are certainly possible at this moment in time.
Due to injury, Palmer can only watch on from the stands at present as Hull enjoy a rich vein of form, which has stemmed from a fluid attacking style of play and strong output from the likes of Joe Gelhardt - who has scored seven times - Kyle Joseph, the currently sidelined Oli McBurnie and Joel Ndala as a substitute option.
As previously mentioned, the playmaker's previous actions didn't sit well with Jakirovic, and with 18 months left on his deal by the time January comes around, it could be seen as an ideal time for all parties to move on.
