Mats Hummels feels Roma are ‘getting to know each other better’ now and assures he is in no hurry to negotiate a new contract. ‘I just want to enjoy my football, there is no pressure.’
The trip to Bologna kicks off at the Stadio Dall’Ara at 17.00 GMT.
Barely getting off the bench during the Ivan Juric era, Hummels was practically a stranger for the first few months of this experience, but has flourished since Claudio Ranieri took over.
“Of course, I get a chance to be on the pitch, we are also playing well and successful as a team. The last 4-5 weeks have been really good for us,” Hummels told Sky Sport Italia.
“Now we want to continue like this and I hope to contribute to the success of the team one more time. We are really getting to know each other better right now and that really helps us all to get better as a team.”

Roma are hoping to ride the wave of enthusiasm after their 2-0 victory over rivals Lazio in the Derby della Capitale, but this is a tricky trip to a Bologna side they beat 3-2 back in November.
“Bologna are a very good team. They had struggled a bit in the first half of the season too, but have really good players and we already experienced that in Rome.
“I expect a really good performance today, where you need to give your best to get all three points.”
The 36-year-old World Cup winner was a free agent who had also been in talks with Bologna before choosing to sign for Roma, but his contract only runs to June 30.
Hummels was asked if there were any negotiations for a potential extension at the Stadio Olimpico.
“Nothing so far. I think this is my 10th game, so I just want to play good for the club. In a few weeks or months, we can start talking about it, but right now I just want to play and enjoy it. I want to enjoy my football, there is no pressure on that,” concluded Hummels.
