Former Tottenham midfielder Sandro has revealed he doesn’t agree with how Enzo Maresca is managing Estevao this season.
Chelsea agreed a deal with Palmerias worth up to £51.4m in the summer of 2024, with the 18-year-old finally joining the Blues after the Club World cup.
Estevao has hit the ground running and has five goals in all competitions so far this season, including three in the Champions League.
Estevao is currently injured and will miss Saturday’s trip to Newcastle, and has been managed carefully by Maresca.
The Italian seemingly doesn’t want to overplay Estevao so soon after arriving in a new country and new league despite him impressing when he’s been on the pitch.

The teenager has made 21 appearances in all competitions, and Maresca has so far resisted calls to start him on a regular basis, but former Spurs midfielder Sandro has criticised the way he’s managed Estevao.
“You have an amazing player in Estêvão. He has a good moment, and then you stop playing him. He should be playing every game he can.
“I don’t understand what’s going on to be fair because what he’s showing, the way he’s playing, I don’t know what they are saving him for.”
The Brazil international isn’t the only Chelsea player injured, with Liam Delap also sidelined with a shoulder injury picked up in the draw against Bournemouth.

Delap was initially expected to miss six to eight weeks, however in positive news Maresca revealed he could be available for the game against Aston Villa next weekend.
Estevao is also expected to be fit for that game, which would be a timely boost ahead of a huge game against the league’s most inform side.
