City boss admits "big mistake" ahead of crucial Champions League tie

"I felt ashamed": What made Guardiola snap after Newcastle loss?
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has publicly apologised for his outburst toward pitchside cameraman following City’s Premier League defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.
Guardiola reacted angrily when cameraman filmed him at close range at the final whistle, moments after he walked onto the pitch to confront Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes and the match officials.
The City boss had been furious with the decision to allow Newcastle’s 70th minute winner to stand having claimed his goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was fouled in the buildup.
"I apologised. I felt embarrassed and ashamed when I saw it. I apologised to the cameraman one second later. I don’t like it"
He added:
“I am who I am even after 1000 matches as coach. I’m not perfect person. I made big mistake but I always defend my team and my club”
Man City currently sit fourth in the Premier League with three win and one draw but Guardiola’s full focus is now on Europe. Victory over third placed Bayer Leverkusen would give City strong platform to finish inside the top eight of the Champions League’s new league phase avoiding the playoff round that complicated their campaign last season before they were knocked out by Real Madrid 6-3 on aggregate.
