Former Chelsea boss Glenn Hoddle has shared his thoughts on something Cole Palmer did in Chelsea’s draw against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The Blues saw their five game winning streak come to an end as they were held to a 1-1 draw by a resolute Forest side.

Despite the dropped points Chelsea still sit fourth after the first seven games with 14 points from 21 and have impressed many with their start under Enzo Maresca.

Palmer a cool customer

The Blues can count themselves unlucky not to have left with the three points, with Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku guilty of missing big chances at the end of the game.

However, Forest had two very good chances themselves late on and if it wasn’t for a series of brilliant saves from Robert Sanchez the Blues could have slumped to their second defeat of the season in the league.

The game saw a number of flashpoints and both sides have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players after both sets of players clashed following a foul on Marc Cucurella, which saw him wipe out Maresca on the touchline.

As both sets of players squared up to one another, in a moment which people may not have noticed at the time Palmer just sat on the floor watching everything unfold and looked like he didn’t have a care in the world.

Hoddle shared his thoughts on the moment and thought it was absolutely brilliant from the England international.

“He is (such a cool customer), it’s the way he plays,” he said in quotes cited on X.com.

“I love that. I saw that afterwards, I didn’t see it at the time, but it’s brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Just chilled.”

It perfectly sums Palmer up and how he is as every time he plays he just looks like he doesn’t have a care in the world about what’s going on around him.

The 22-year-old has had a brilliant start to the season and has six goals and five assists from the first seven Premier League games, and he will be hoping to take that form into England’s upcoming games against Greece and Finland in the Nations League.
