Ibrahim Mbaye could consider a Premier League move as his minutes at PSG dwindle, despite his stated wish to stay. According to L'Équipe, the Senegal forward remains attached to his formative club, yet is expected to attract interest this summer, particularly from England.

He set up a goal in the 2-0 win over Peru at the Stade de France, then scored Senegal’s second in a 3-1 victory against Gambia on Tuesday night. That reinforced his encouraging Africa Cup of Nations showing in January.

At the same age, Pape Thiaw was winning the Gambardella with AS Saint-Étienne, a comparison used by Senegal’s coach to frame Mbaye’s rapid rise at 18. The club picture is less rosy.

Mbaye is under contract until June 2028 and still aims to remain in Paris, yet he is aware his playing time has dropped sharply and is monitoring the market, where his stock in England is high. He is represented by an English agency and drew several approaches in the winter window, which PSG rebuffed. There have also been suggestions he visited Manchester City’s facilities, a claim denied by his camp.

Aston Villa are also said to have positioned themselves with a view to the summer. How often Luis Enrique uses him in the coming weeks could help clarify his future.
