Eddie Howe meets the media yet again today.

The Newcastle United Head Coach set to be quizzed on the Fulham match tomorrow.

His thoughts on how the game will be played out.

Eddie Howe asked about the injury and availability situation.

Will the likes of Harvey Barnes, Kieran Trippier, Lloyd Kelly, Joe Willock and Sandro Tonali have done enough when impressing, to various degrees, when coming on in the second half at Molineux to all help turn the match around.

Plus of course the best part, Eddie Howe to be questioned on how it will feel to go top of the table, if Newcastle win on Saturday. With Man City not facing Arsenal until the Sunday.

The thing is though, we all know that one other topic will be by far the most important to grill Eddie Howe on, for one or more of the journalists at this morning’s press conference. Indeed, the ONLY thing that certain journalists will be interested in, despite Newcastle United potentially heading top of the Premier League.

That subject of course, is Newcastle United Sporting Director Paul Mitchell.

Certain journalists, much/most of the media are desperate for there to be ‘civil war’ at Newcastle United.

They are desperate to stir things up as much as possible and get to their end game of hoping either Eddie Howe or Paul Mitchell is pressured out, hopefully both (in the eyes of journalists).

So, I will be amazed if no journalist, indeed journalists, don’t yet again ask him the same same questions they have already asked at numerous press conferences.

What happened in the last transfer window?

What will happen in the next one?

Have you spoken to Paul Mitchell?

If so, what was said?

What do you think of (add whatever nonsense further speculation has been made up by these self-same journalists since the last Eddie Howe press conference)?

It is plain embarrassing.

The really shameful thing is that these journalists will claim that they have to ask these things on behalf of the Newcastle United fans! That it is their duty.

Well, they don’t speak for me, or ask these endless questions on my behalf, with the only aim to unsettle Eddie Howe and harm Newcastle United.

In my view, enough is enough.

It is now three weeks since the summer 2024 transfer window ended.

It is four months until the January 2025 transfer window opens.

If they have any integrity whatsoever, the journalists have to call a halt to this endless asking of the same same questions to Eddie Howe, where the only intention is to cause trouble and unrest for him.

If any of the journalists persist in doing so today, the club should kick them out, escort them from the premises and tell them they are no longer welcome.

It is a bit like a court case where if the defence or prosecution is seen to be taking it too far to be unfairly and for too long badgering somebody giving evidence, the judge will step in and tell them no more, they are out of order.

As Newcastle United fans we are sick of this now and it has to stop.
