‘If we play like today’ – Reijnders believes Milan can lift Coppa Italia after Inter win | OneFootball

Tijjani Reijnders has claimed that AC Milan can lift the Coppa Italia in a few weeks if they play like they did against Inter.

It has been a very tough season for Milan at times given their underperformance in the other competitions, and yet the derby has provided some respite. It is now five games unbeaten against their city rivals, and the most recent was the most convincing.

The Rossoneri are in the final of the Coppa Italia thanks to a brace from Luka Jovic and a late strike from Reijnders, securing a 3-0 victory on the night. The 4-1 aggregate win means that Conceicao’s side will face either Bologna or Empoli in the Rome final, though the former are 3-0 up after leg one.

Reijnders spoke to Mediaset after the full-time whistle to give his thoughts on another memorable night in the derby, another in which he got a goal and was one of the best players on the park, running the show in midfield. MilanNews relayed his comments.

How much do you believe in winning the Coppa Italia?

“A lot. We had difficulties in Serie A, this is the best way to reach Europe next year. If we play like today then we can win it.”
