Tottenham, one point above the relegation zone with seven matches left, said in a statement it had mutually agreed for head coach Igor Tudor to leave with immediate effect, without naming a successor. The Croatian departs less than two months after arriving.
Appointed in February to replace Thomas Frank, Tudor took charge seven times, recording one win, one draw and five defeats.
His spell also included a Champions League last-16 exit to Atlético Madrid. Stand-in goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky endured a torrid first leg, a 5-2 defeat, and was substituted on 17 minutes after two errors that directly led to goals. The episode came to symbolise tactical calls that backfired for the Croatian.
Tudor’s final match was a 3-0 home loss to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest on 22 March.
Injury issues for key players have compounded Tottenham’s problems, and they currently have the fourth-worst defence in England.
