“I’m more out than in” – Salah puts pressure on Liverpool over contract talks | OneFootball

Mohamed Salah has revealed he has had no offer of a new contract from Liverpool and suggested he is closer to leaving than staying at Anfield.

Salah’s current contract expires at the end of the season with the Egyptian one of three high-profile players with deals set to expire, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.

The 32-year-old’s future is up in the air despite a superb start to the season. Salah scored twice in Liverpool’s 3-2 win at Southampton on Sunday and has been a driving force in their run to the top of the league.

He has scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 12 league appearances, averaging a goal involvement every 66 minutes.

Despite showing few signs of slowing down, Salah is yet to agree a new contract with Liverpool and several sides in Europe and Saudi Arabia are monitoring his situation. He will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides in January.

Salah discussed his future following the win at Southampton, a result that took Liverpool eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Salah says Liverpool future out of his hands

He suggested he wants to extend his time at Liverpool but admits the decision is out of his hands, following no formal offer of a new deal to date.

“I’m probably more out than in! I didn’t receive any proposal,” he said, as per Fabrizio Romano.

“We’re almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club…”.

“I’m probably more out than in.

“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this… but there’s no proposal to extend now. In the end, it is not in my hands. I have been in the club for many years. I love the fans. The fans love me. It is not in my hands or the fans’ hands”.

“I’m just doing my best because this is who I am and I try to give it all for myself and the club. Disappointed? Yes, I’m disappointed. Of course I’m disappointed with the situation. I have not seen any sort of proposal from Liverpool so far.”
