Robert Sanchez has admitted he’s just trying to stay consistent as his good form this season continued against Bournemouth.
The Blues were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw on the south coast, and lost further ground on Aston Villa and Manchester City above them.
Chelsea remain fourth in the league but are now five points behind Villa in third, and six behind City second, whilst they are only three points above Manchester United in 12th.
There weren’t many positives to take, but perhaps the only one was a clean sheet and the performance of Sanchez.
If it wasn’t for the Spaniard the Blues probably would have lost and he made some good saves, especially in the second half.

Sanchez has improved a lot this season, having been heavily criticised during his time at the club so far, but he appears to be turning things around.
Outside of the red card against United, he’s played really well, and he’s put down his improvement in form to just trying to stay consistent.
“I’m trying to stay consistent, trying not to chase stuff and let things come to me,” he said as quoted on X.com.
“Play simple off the ball. I think I always do what I had to do, I deal with the balls, make the save.
“So, yeah, just trying to stay consistent, stay calm and and positive.”
Chelsea are seemingly happy with Sanchez, although there have been reports of going back in for AC Milan’s Mike Maignan.

However, it’s believed Chelsea won’t be revisiting a deal for Maignan, and are happy with their current goal keepers.
Talented youngster Mike Penders is impressing on loan at Strasbourg and it’s clear he’s viewed as the long term number one, it’s just a question of Chelsea deciding when they feel he’s ready.
