FC Bayern have once again been hit by injury woes in the final stretch of the season, and at a crucial time of all times. Three players have suffered injuries in the space of just a few days, making the Munich side’s personnel situation noticeably more difficult. Coach Vincent Kompany is finding the air increasingly thin, particularly in attack
Until recently, it seemed as if the record champions would get through the season relatively well, but this stable starting position has changed abruptly. After the first leg victory against Real Madrid, the first bad news followed: Lennart Karl suffered a torn muscle fibre in his right rear thigh and is expected to be out until the beginning of May
But that was not all: shortly before the second leg against the Whites , Tom Bischof also suffered a muscle fiber tear in his left calf and will also be out for the time being
The series of injuries reached a temporary low point on Saturday evening when FC Bayern confirmed the absence of Serge Gnabry. The attacking player suffered a ruptured adductor muscle in his right thigh. According to media reports, he is facing a break of up to three months – meaning he could be out for the season

For Vincent Kompany, this development comes at the worst possible time. Bayern may be on the verge of winning the Bundesliga, but the decisive games in the cup and Champions League are still to come
The cup semi-final at Bayer Leverkusen awaits in the coming week – a real knockout duel – followed a few days later by the Champions League semi-final at Paris Saint-Germain. Games in which every loss weighs particularly heavily
The personnel situation is particularly tense in attack, with Gnabry and Karl missing two options that would have been particularly important in the rotation
This puts Jamal Musiala even more in the spotlight. The 23-year-old has recently shown an upward trend in form after fighting his way back from a serious injury
However, those responsible had previously made a conscious effort to build him up carefully, a strategy that may now have to be jettisoned
The absences mean that FC Bayern have lost a certain amount of tactical flexibility, and Kompany is lacking important alternatives, especially in English weeks, in which stress management plays a central role
The coming weeks will therefore be a real test – not only for the remaining players, but also for the depth of the squad
One thing is certain: FC Bayern must come closer together in the decisive phase of the season, because despite all the setbacks, the big goal remains – a season that should end with several titles.
