Manchester United could see six players leave for free in the summer of 2025.

As it stands, those poised to depart Old Trafford next year are Tom Heaton, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, Amad Diallo and Harry Maguire. However, the latter two Reds have one-year extensions embedded into their current terms, which the club intends to activate in the coming months (per Manchester World).

Their decision to keep Magure in the ranks could well be to protect his resale value later down the line. Losing an experienced player for nothing, especially one whom they forked out £80 million for, would demonstrate a pretty poor piece of business all-round.

When fit, the England international has been a dependable figure to have in the squad, although he has been struggling significantly more with injury setbacks over the past year; Maguire missed around 17 United matches last season, including the FA Cup final, before being ruled out of the Euros campaign.

He was absent from the Reds’ 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last month and prior to the international break, lasted only 45 minutes against Aston Villa before limping off, being replaced by counterpart Matthijs de Ligt in the process.

Elsewhere, United are actively working on a ‘long-term’ deal for Amad, who flourished when given his opportunities towards the back end of last season. He has continued to be one bright spark amidst a turbulent start for the club this campaign, too.

The 22-year-old has been vying with Alejandro Garnacho for a starting spot on the right flank, with both youngsters’ promising form leading to Antony falling entirely out of favour under Erik ten Hag.

Amad has been given the nod for four of seven Premier League matches, as well as both Europa League opening games.
