Pep Guardiola says he is unsure whether Nico will be available for the Manchester derby.

Our Spanish holding midfielder missed the midweek win over Newcastle United with a knock.

But the boss says he will need the Friday afternoon training session to know whether he can play or not.

Asked specifically about Nico’s fitness, Pep said: “We’ll see this afternoon in training.”

While Guardiola added that Oscar Bobb and John Stones are still unavailable for the trip to Old Trafford, he also confirmed Omar Marmoush remains at the AFCON with Egypt.

“When [Omar] finishes the third place play-off game, he’ll come back,” he said.

“Without John, without Ruben, without Josko, we’re in a difficult situation [defensively] not for one game, but for a long, long period.

“Ruben will be back soon, John hopefully - we’ll see but Josko, no.”
