Real Sociedad B face CD Castellón at Zubieta on Saturday at 16.15, matchday 29 of LaLiga Hypermotion. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the tie will be staged at the club’s revamped complex, variously known as Estadio Zubieta, José Luis Orbegozo, Z7 or Izan, the former honouring the president from 1967 to 1983.

For 2025/26 the youth hub has been transformed into a mini-stadium suited to the professional game. Sanse, the reserve side, now play there rather than on a traditional training pitch.

Capacity has been increased to 4,000, meeting RFEF and LaLiga standards. The standout Izan building offers 4,500 square metres over three floors, with dressing rooms for the B team and the women’s side, a modern gym, physio suites, a medical area and video rooms.

The pitch mirrors Anoeta at 105 x 68 metres and uses high-grade natural grass with upgraded drainage for winter conditions. New LED floodlights enable HD and 4K broadcasts required in LaLiga Hypermotion.

Supporters benefit from catering and hospitality spaces, plus an underground car park beneath Izan for about 100 vehicles, mainly staff and players, alongside exterior parking. Media are served by a new mixed zone and press room.

The venue also hosts Real Sociedad Femenina, making it one of the country’s busiest professional football centres. Izan means “to be” in Basque, underlining the club’s aim to shape future first team identities here.

Before the switch, Sanse played at Anoeta, where their results were notably strong, including five wins, three draws and two defeats. The team moved into Zubieta on 10 January 2026.
