The Italian champions Inter bid farewell to Serie A 2025/26 with a thrilling, high-scoring 3-3 draw at the Dall’Ara against Bologna. In front of a sea of travelling Nerazzurri fans singing in pride for an outstanding season, Chivu’s side fight until the very end and leave nothing behind.

The match opened with a moment of brilliance from the league’s standout player: fresh from being named Serie A MVP, Federico Dimarco underlined his quality with a perfect free kick into the top corner. It was his seventh goal of the season, alongside 18 assists, giving Inter a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute.

Bologna responded quickly through Bernardeschi to level the score. It was an open and lively game despite the heat and the lack of real stakes, with neither side holding back. Just before half-time, the hosts turned it around when Pobega’s shot was deflected by two Inter players, with the decisive touch coming off Lautaro to make it 2-1. Inter were then hit again by a deflection early in the second half, as an own goal from Zielinski made it 3-1. Even so, they stayed in the game and continued to push forward after Lautaro, Barella and Dimarco were substituted. In the 64th minute, Pio Esposito pulled one back for his tenth goal of the season, finishing from close range after a superb Diouf run that saw him beat two men and hit the post. The match was back on. Late on, Cocchi (making just his fourth senior appearance) and Topalovic (his second) came on, and it was the Slovenian midfielder who provided a brilliant assist for Diouf, who broke through and fired under the crossbar to make it 3-3 his first Serie A goal. Inter refused to give in even in their final match of the season, signing off in front of their supporters after a remarkable campaign. They finished Serie A on 87 points with 89 goals scored.
