Inter Miami sign Daniel Sumalla on short-term deal from Inter Miami II | OneFootball

Inter Miami have signed 17-year-old defender Daniel Sumalla on a short-term agreement from their MLS NEXT Pro team. The club said in a statement that he will be available for the away double-header at Colorado Rapids on Saturday, 18 April, and Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, 22 April.

It is the centre-back’s first senior call-up after standout displays for Inter Miami II.

Sumalla made his professional debut in May 2025, starting an MLS NEXT Pro match against Philadelphia Union II. He played in all 17 fixtures for the side that season and became a regular in defence.

In total he has made 21 professional appearances for Inter Miami II.

Born in Miami, he moved to Catalonia at the age of one and returned to the United States in 2018.

He progressed through local clubs before joining Inter Miami’s academy at under-17 level in 2024, stepping up to the under-19s the following year and then earning promotion to Inter Miami II.
