Inter Milan are among a large group of clubs across world football growing increasingly frustrated with FIFA over unpaid solidarity payments promised in connection with last summer’s Club World Cup, with over $250 million still to be distributed more than seven months after the tournament concluded
According to The Guardian, Clubs across the world were promised a share of the overall pot, a mechanism designed to ensure that revenue from the expanded tournament was redistributed throughout the football pyramid.
If divided equally, each top-flight club worldwide would receive approximately $70,000.
However, FIFA has yet to establish how the money will be allocated.
There is no agreed criteria for distribution between the various confederations.
Which were indeed represented in vastly different proportions at the tournament itself.

There is no suggestion the payments will not eventually be made.
However, clubs in smaller leagues, for whom the sum represents a meaningful financial benefit, are running out of patience.
One executive from a minor European league told The Guardian that repeated requests for clarity had gone unanswered.
And with no firm timeline provided for when clubs can expect to receive their share.
For clubs like Inter, the sum itself is relatively modest.
However, the principle, and the precedent being set by FIFA’s handling of the situation, is a source of genuine irritation across the game.
Particularly at a time when football’s relationship with its governing body is already under significant strain.
