Deeply embedded into the hearts of the Nerazzurri faithful, Lautaro Martinez has earned a legendary status at the San Siro.

Indeed, since joining Inter from Racing Club in 2018, the 27-year-old has shown nothing but loyalty to this shirt.

Furthermore, he has won two Serie A titles with the club and featured in the 2023 Champions League final.

Hopefully, El Toro could help Inter win a long-awaited title in Europe’s second-most prestigious competition this term.

Meanwhile, he led by example last year as Simone Inzaghi’s side strolled to a dominant Serie A triumph.

Curiously, Inter got the better of arch-rivals AC Milan to clinch the crown, adding a special flavor to the celebration.

“All those emotions rushed into my head when the referee blew the final whistle,” El Toro admitted. “We achieved our main goal: the second star.

“Wearing the captain’s armband is a huge honor for any player, even more so at a club like Inter.”

Lautaro Martinez stood on the roof of Milan’s iconic cathedral to celebrate the title with the Nerazzurri fans.

“Reaching this spot, on top of the Duomo, is special for me, coming all the way from Argentina,” he recalled.

Meanwhile, he revealed what he told his Inter teammates before the crucial derby.

“In that moment, in the locker room, I told the guys we were 90 minutes away from writing history,” he added. “And that’s exactly what we did.

“Even though it took us a long time to get there, I’d do it all over again.”
