Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has a couple of dilemmas to solve, as Mehdi Taremi and Davide Frattesi look to shake up the status quo.

After settling for a draw against Genoa on the opening day of the season, the reigning champions will be looking to register their first win in 2024/25 when they host Lecce at San Siro tomorrow.

As reported earlier in the day, the starting lineup should include a couple of rather expected changes.

Inzaghi will resort to his stalwarts Benjamin Pavard and Denzel Dumfries. The duo should return to the starting lineup, replacing Yann Bisseck and Matteo Darmian.

On the other hand, the source expected the rest of the lineup to remain intact. This includes an attacking duo of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram, plus Henrikh Mkhitaryan joining Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu in midfield.

Nevertheless, Sky Sport Italia correspondent Matteo Barzaghi (via FcInter1908) believes Inzaghi might have a few selection headaches.

The journalist insists that Taremi and Frattesi are ready and raring to go.

Both players entered during the second half against Genoa and had positive impacts. Their most notable contribution came in Thuram’s second goal which gifted Inter the lead, albeit temporarily.

Therefore, Inzaghi will certainly have plans for the duo, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll break into the starting lineup or take the field in the second half like last week.

Barzaghi reveals that the Nerazzurri trained at San Siro on Friday. They took the opportunity to test the stadium’s new turf.

The team will finish up the preparations tomorrow morning at Appiano Gentile. Inzaghi will then make his final decision regarding the starting lineup.

The encounter kicks off tomorrow at 20:45 CET.
