Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghiu says that midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is ready for tomorrow’s Serie A clash with AC Milan.
The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, ahead of tomorrow’s derby. He also called clinching the Serie A title in the derby the “best moment” of his career.
Inter take on city rivals AC Milan in the derby tomorrow.
One of the big questions for the Nerazzurri starting eleven concerns the fitness of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
Calhanoglu is only just coming back from an injury.
The Turkish international should certainly be in the squad tomorrow. He has been back in training since Thursday.
However, Calhanoglu’s availability to play from the first minute remains a significant doubt.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi said that “Calhanoglu is ready, like all his teammates.”
“He and Acerbi did their first full training sessions yesterday,” the Nerazzurri coach noted. “After a while out.”

‘He’s preparing for tomorrow at his best. Tomorrow will be the last training session, and then I’ll decide on the lineup.”
Meanwhile, Inzaghi also gave his thoughts on the exceptional recent form of Inter captain Lautaro Martinez. “He’s been doing very well,” said the Nerazzurri coach.
“But at the same time, he was also doing well a month ago. Even though he wasn’t scoring with the same consistency as now.”
“But his performances were very similar to his current ones,” the Inter coach insisted.
“The difference is that now he’s scoring a lot,” Inzaghi said. “But as I’ve said, he’s our captain and he gives us a huge extra quality.”
Meanwhile, Inzaghi was evasive about transfer rumours, particularly surrounding the arrival of Roma’s Nicola Zalewski.
“At this moment, with the derby just ahead, talking about the transfer market…” the Inter coach said.
“Two young players left who needed more playing time,” he said of the departures of Tomas Palacios and Tajon Buchanan on loan.
Lastly, asked if last season’s Serie A title-clinching derby win over Milan was “the best moment of his career” Inzaghi replied “Absolutely, yes.”
