Inter Milan are planning a major summer rebuild, with Nico Paz and Nico Williams among the names under consideration as Cristian Chivu prepares to sign a contract extension with the club.
According to Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, Chivu will receive both a longer deal and a salary increase in recognition of an outstanding debut season.
He will also have significant input into recruitment.
The club want to build a more vertical, intense and physical style of play, and their transfer targets reflect that ambition.
A potential switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation is under consideration.

Midfield targets include Manu Koné, Ederson and Leon Goretzka, while Mkhitaryan could yet extend his stay.
Up front, Thuram’s future is uncertain if a big offer arrives.
Inter want a Lookman-type wide forward, Moussa Diaby remains a possibility after interest in January.
The bigger signings depend on Oaktree’s ambition.
If the ownership backs a marquee move, Nico Williams becomes a realistic option.
The Argentine currently at Como would prefer a central role at Inter over competing for minutes at Real Madrid and much depends on what Madrid decide to do with him this summer.
