Inter Milan face the prospect of ending the season with “zero tituli” after crashing out of the Coppa Italia to AC Milan.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, highlight the nightmarish possibility for the Nerazzurri.
Just a week ago, Inter Milan were very much dreaming of the Treble.
The Nerazzurri were riding high after knocking Bayern Munich out of the Champions League.
Inter had the advantage in the Serie A title race. And a great chance to reach the Coppa Italia final for the third time in four seasons.

But the last few days have seen the situation change greatly for Inter Milan.
It has been evident that the intense tie against Bayern took its toll on Inter, physically and psychologically.
The Nerazzurri lost to Bologna in Serie A over the weekend. A stoppage time Riccardo Orsolini goal meant that they are now level on points with Napoli at the top of the league table.
And then yesterday’s loss to AC Milan well and truly piled on the misery.
On paper, the Coppa Italia was perhaps the easiest trophy for Inter to win this season. But now it is out of reach.
And when the dust settles, Inter face a daunting task winning the Serie A title ahead of Napoli. And an equally formidable challenge in the Champions League against Barcelona.
Then, if Inter could get the better of the Blaugranas, they would face Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
Therefore, there is the increasingly real possibility that Inter could go from having a chance to repeat Jose Mourinho’s Treble heroics to ending the season with what the Portuguese coach witheringly called “zero tituli.”
