Cristian Chivu has urged his Inter Milan squad to stay focused ahead of today’s tricky trip to Pisa, highlighting the importance of maintaining identity and composure after two consecutive defeats.
Speaking to DAZN ahead of kick-off, the Nerazzurri coach acknowledged the challenge posed by a Pisa side that defends deep and is in good form.
“I expect the right attitude from the whole team,” Chivu said.
“They need to understand the dangers of this match. Pisa are in a very good moment, so it won’t be easy. We must add that little extra that has been missing in recent games, without losing our identity.”

Chivu also addressed questions surrounding Lautaro Martinez’s substitution against AC Milan.
The Argentine looked frustrated after he was taken off in the derby last weekend, with the Nerazzurri losing 1-0 to their rivals.
“I make the decisions. Too much is said about a player who is considered one of the best forwards in the world. It’s unfair to single him out for criticism. He had moments of brilliance, others less so. I take full responsibility for not revealing that he had a fever before the derby. He pushed through the Friday indisposition and wanted to play. Lautaro is crucial, like all his teammates.”
“I also forgot to mention he had a fever before the derby but gritted his teeth and wanted to play.”
The remarks underline Chivu’s focus on squad unity and his handling of player fitness and public perception as Inter look to respond at the Arena Garibaldi.
