Inter are assessing the market for a right-sided alternative following the injury to Denzel Dumfries, with Hellas Verona winger Rafik Belghali emerging as a potential option.
According to Sportitalia, via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri are considering a short-term solution rather than an immediate major investment.
Dumfries recently underwent surgery and is expected to be sidelined for around three months, a setback that has inevitably reopened discussions over January reinforcements.
However, Gianluigi Longari reports that there is no sense of panic within the club.
“The operation undergone by Denzel Dumfries, which will keep him out for around three more months, has inevitably sparked debate about possible January market moves,” Longari explains.
“Yet, unlike what often happens in similar situations, there is no atmosphere of emergency at Inter.”

Instead, the club are said to be analysing their options calmly, aware that rushed decisions rarely provide long-term benefits.
One idea on the table is a so-called “bridge solution” – a move designed to add depth without blocking future plans.
“There is the hypothesis of a temporary solution, but not a simple stop-gap,” Longari adds. “The name of Hellas Verona’s Belghali fits this logic. A young, interesting profile capable of offering an immediate contribution. Meanwhile, also fitting into a broader project.”
At the same time, Inter are also considering relying on existing internal solutions.
Therefore postponing a major investment until the summer.
That approach has been made more viable by positive performances on the pitch.
Indeed, easing the pressure for immediate action as Chivu weighs his options on the right flank.
