Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries is happy to have powered Inter Milan to victory against Atalanta in the Supercoppa Italiana.

The Dutchman spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, after today’s semifinal clash. He also said he has “no preference” between AC Milan or Juventus in the final.

Dutch international wingback Dumfries proved to be the hero for Inter this evening.

The 28-year-old scored both the Nerazzurri’s goals in a second half win over Atalanta.

Dumfries’s first goal was an overhead kick, an acrobatic effort that showed his quick thinking after a scramble inside the penalty area.

Then, the Dutchman’s second goal was no less impressive. Dumfries rifled it in off the crossbar with a first-time effort, giving La Dea keeper Marco Carnesecchi no chance.

Dumfries: “Happy For The Goals & Win Vs Atalanta, No Preference AC Milan Or Juventus”

Along with a clean sheet, Dumfries’s goals were enough to see Inter move on to the Supercoppa final for the fourth season running.

After the match, the former PSV wingback said that “I’m happy for the goals.”

“But above all, I’m happy about the win,” he continued. “I’m happy to have contributed to the team winning.”

Asked if he feels that the “real Inter” are back, Dumfries replied “Yes.”

“I think we’re playing really well,” the Dutchman continued. “We’re on the right track.”

“We have to keep going like this,” Dumfries added. “But we have to think one match at a time.”

Meanwhile, Dumfries was also asked about the prospect of facing either AC Milan or Juventus in the final next Monday. The Rossoneri and the Bianconeri meet in the semifinals tomorrow.

“I have no preference,” the 28-year-old said. “Because every match is tough.”

“We’re focused on our own team,” Dumfries made clear. “And then tomorrow we’ll find out who our opponent will be.”
