Jamie Carragher called out for Mo Salah criticism live on air
Liverpool‘s bewildering season continues with a trip to Inter Milan in the Champions League tonight as the fallout from Mohamed Salah’s explosive interview continues.
The Egyptian has been omitted from the Reds’ travelling squad after claiming he had been thrown under the bus at Anfield and stating that he no longer had a relationship with manager Arne Slot.
And those comments, and indeed doubts over the Egyptian’s future at Anfield, are hanging over the club as they face a tough test at the San Siro, with Slot’s side hoping to put one foot in the next round of the competition with a win.
The Reds sit 13th in the league phase table but they are just three points behind fourth-placed Inter, who themselves could nearly secure a place in the top eight with a home win this evening.

Christian Chivu, Inter Milan’s head coach, said: "Avoiding the play-offs?
“It's everyone's goal to play two fewer games. We are working on every aspect and trying to give everyone minutes.
“We are rotating the squad, trying to keep the players happy and get them in shape."

If we now know most of what is on Mohamed Salah’s mind, the great question is what Arne Slot and the Liverpool hierarchy are thinking behind the scenes.
The Egyptian did not travel to Milan for the important Champions League match with Inter Milan after his extraordinary tirade, and while these are strong optics, it is not being presented as some final decisive call.
Slot has already said that his relationship is not broken, and that after this game, they will look at the situation again.

Mohamed Salah has voiced his anger at Liverpool’s treatment of him, with Arne Slot removing him from the Champions League squad, but special treatment could address some of the Egypt international’s concerns

Mohamed Salah has been omitted from Liverpool’s Champions League squad to face Inter Milan over his astonishing rant on Saturday.
The Independent understands Liverpool’s hierarchy, in conjunction with Slot, decided to withdraw Salah from the team’s plans for a short period ahead of the winger’s departure for the Africa Cup of Nations next week, which means he could also miss Saturday’s visit of Brighton to Anfield.
Liverpool believe the move to keep Salah away from the team in the short term is in the best interests of all parties. The 33-year-old trained with his teammates earlier on Monday but will now miss out against Inter on Tuesday night after Liverpool named a 19-player squad for the trip to Milan. The club will not be taking disciplinary action, however.
