Inter Milan want €70 million for Barcelona target, unlikely to accept players in exchange | OneFootball

Alessandro Bastoni is one of the main priorities for FC Barcelona heading into the summer transfer window.

It is clear that the Blaugrana defensive line needs further strengthening before next season and the Inter Milan mainstay has been identified as the ideal target.

However, a move for the centre-back might prove to be expensive for the Catalans, which is why they are exploring the idea of offering a player in exchange as part of the deal.

However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter Milan are expected to hold out for a sum of €70 million for Bastoni and not accept any players as part of the deal.

The Nerazzurri are slowly beginning to accept the possibility of the 27-year-old Italian international’s departure in the summer transfer window, believing that he is seeking a new challenge in his career.

As such, the idea is to sell him for a significant price of around €70 million, so that they can sign a quality replacement and invest in some other signings as well.

Therefore, they do not intend to accept any players as part of the operation, as whoever is offered in exchange might not fit their project for the future.

This presents a hurdle for Barcelona, who might have reservations about paying such a sum for Bastoni, considering that they also intend to sign a new top-quality striker in the summer.

In addition, it must not be forgotten that the Catalans are still not back to the 1:1 Fair Play rule and will have some salary cap restrictions as well.

So, it will be interesting to see how Deco & co. proceed with their pursuit of Bastoni, who himself is understood to be keen on the move to Barcelona.
