Inter Milan want Barcelona youngster as part of Alessandro Bastoni deal | OneFootball

A member of the loan army at La Liga giants Barcelona has emerged as a potential makeweight in a Blaugrana deal for Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni.

The player in question? Héctor Fort.

It is of course common knowledge at this point that the Barcelona board have identified the aforementioned Bastoni as a priority signing this summer.

Amid ongoing efforts to reinforce the heart of the club’s backline, Deco and co. consider the Italian as the ideal long-term partner for Pau Cubarsí.

The one major stumbling block in any Barca swoop for Bastoni, though, comes in the form of price.

Inter Milan are expected to demand a premium fee to part with a long-term stalwart in their defensive ranks.

Those behind the scenes at the Spotify Camp Nou will therefore no doubt be intrigued to learn of Nerazzurri interest in youngster Héctor Fort.

As per market insider Matteo Moretto, speaking to Marca:

“They’ve been negotiating with Bastoni’s representatives for months and there’s already an agreement on the contract; they just need to find common ground between Inter’s demands and Barça’s offer. Barça wants to include players in the deal, and one player Inter really likes is Héctor Fort.”

19-year-old full-back Fort is for his part currently out on loan away from Barcelona, with La Liga outfit Elche.
