Inter Milan fullback Franco Carboni will reportedly join Venezia on loan after ending his time at River Plate in a swift fashion.

The 21-year-old is a youth product of Lanus and Catania, but has been on the Nerazzurri’s books since January 2020.

Over the past few years, he had loan spells at Cagliari, Monza and Ternana.

This summer, the left-back signed for River Plate on an 18-month loan. But while he was supposed to stay until December 2025, his time with the Buenos Aires giants has been cut short.

According to TYC Sports via FcInterNews, a managerial change at River Plate spelled the end of Carboni’s time at the club.

When the youngster joined the Argentinian giants, Martin Demichellis was still in charge.

However, the club has now replaced the former Manchester City defender with the returning Marcelo Gallardo.

The latter dropped Carboni from the squad, much to Inter’s dismay.

Therefore, the two clubs have decided to terminate the loan stint which only lasted for just over a month.

But as the source explains, the Nerazzurri already have an alternative track prepared.

The Italian champions will reportedly send Carboni to Venezia where he’ll spend his campaign on loan at Eusebio Di Francesco’s court.

FcInter1908 believes the Lagunari are indeed an option for the Argentine. However, the two clubs have yet to find a definitive agreement.

The source also mentions another potential track that leads to a reunion with Demichellis. The manager has now taken over Monterrey in the Mexican league.

Franco is the older brother of Valentin Carboni who cemented himself as one of the most promising youngsters in Serie A last season during his loan stint at Monza.

The 19-year-old has now joined Olympique Marseille on loan from Inter but with an option to buy.
