Inter president Giuseppe Marotta has moved to clarify talk of Al-Hilal targeting Alessandro Bastoni, telling 365Scores: "Our position on Bastoni is clear to everyone." Inter intend to keep the defender for 2026-2027.
In the same conversation, 365Scores reported that no bid from the Riyadh club had reached Inter and that the rest was only rumour. Earlier, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Al-Hilal boss Simone Inzaghi had asked his board to pursue Bastoni this summer.
Al-Hilal’s window has stirred debate, with the club plotting “replacement and renewal” after a 2025-2026 season that yielded only the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
Separately, 365Scores said Al-Hilal will not recruit a foreign centre-back until the futures of Kalidou Koulibaly and Türkiye’s Yusuf Akcicek are settled. The pair will be assessed during the first-team pre-season camp before any decision.
The same outlet added that Barcelona have made no official offer for Joao Cancelo, while Darwin Nunez is viewed only as a potential option if priority targets are missed. As of now, there have been no concrete moves for either player.
